My latest handcrafted soap creation is inspired by the Aussie Bush with Lemon Myrtle Essential oil paving the way. It has an uplifting and refreshing aroma which is crisp and calming, fresh and zesty! Indigenous to Australia, Lemon Myrtle has antibacterial, anti fungal and antimicrobial properties and has a long tradition as a herbal solution.
In this batch, I’ve paired Lemon Myrtle with Tea Tree essential oil which is a wonderfully protective, strengthening and fortifying oil, also known for its purifying properties. When I formulated this recipe, I ran with my usual signature blend of shea and cocoa butters to nourish and enrich, olive oil which soothes and protects the skin, macadamia nut oil and more. In keeping with its natural colour and only chia seeds to add texture and decorative flair, it’s suitable for both face and body.
