Craving a healthy, protein-packed bagel that’s super easy to make?
Using only 3 ingredients, you’ll whip these up in no time!
Ingredients:
✧ 1 cup Wholemeal Self-Raising Flour
✧ 1 cup Full Fat Cottage Cheese
✧ 1 egg
Method:
✦ Pre-heat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
✦ Start by adding 1 cup of wholemeal self-raising flour to a mixing bowl.
✦ Add in 1 cup of full-fat cottage cheese.
✦ Using a spatula, mix the flour and cottage cheese together until they form a dough-like consistency.
✦ Turn your bagel dough onto a floured surface.
✦ Knead the dough for 1-2 minutes until it forms a smooth ball.
✦ Divide the dough into 4 equal sections.
✦ Roll each section into a 15cm length.
✦ Connect the ends of each log to form a circle and gently pinch to secure.
✦ Place your bagels on tray lined with baking paper.
✦ Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each bagel for a beautiful golden finish.
OPTIONAL: Sprinkle chia and sesame seeds.
✦ Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bagels are golden brown and cooked through.
✦ Let the bagels cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy them plain or with your favourite toppings [butter, jam, honey, nut butters, banana slices, strawberry slithers, avocado, salmon, cream cheese and more]
TIPS:
✧ You can blitz the cottage cheese before mixing so the bagels don’t have little lumpy bits throughout.
✧ You can airfry your bagels! 180°C for approx 15 minutes.
✧ If you don’t have SR flour, use all purpose flour and add 1 tsp baking powder plus a pinch of salt.
